Lorraine Massa Tokuyama

Lorraine Massa Tokuyama, affectionately nicknamed "Meemo" by her granddaughter, was a well-known teacher of sashiko (a centuries old form of Japanese needlework); a practitioner and a lover of sewing, quilting, silk embroidery, knitting, shibori, and kumihimo. She was a trained occupational therapist and retired DOE special education teacher. Meemo passed away peacefully at the Palolo Chinese Home under the care of St. Francis Hospice, on Feb. 15, 2020. She was born on Jan. 21, 1923 in Honolulu. Preceded in death by husband, George H. Tokuyama, Lorraine is survived by sons Greg (Nadine) & Russell (Iris); daughter Marcia (Cary Bruce) Omura; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
