Irene Mitsuko Oki
93-year-old Liliha nursing home resident passed away on August 18, 2017 with her son and other family members bedside. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Hiro Oki in September 2005. Honolulu-born on March 10, 1924 to Masataro and Asano (Kawasaki) Nakashima, she graduated in 1942 from Kahuku High School where she was the Yearbook Editor. She met Fred Oki, a veteran, in 1945, and they married in 1946. She worked for over 35 years full-time and an additional 15 years part-time as a bookkeeper. She was the eldest of 11 children, and is survived by her son Lloyd (Annette), grandson Bryan (fiance Caitlin), four brothers Brian (Sue), Charles (Thelma), Edwin (Janice), and Walter (Gloria) Nakashima, two sisters Ruby Matsumoto and June Ooka, and many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand- nephews. Her funeral service will be held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Saturday, 9th September, at 1:00pm. Her inurnment will occur on Monday, 11th September at 1:00pm at Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific. No flowers. Aloha attire.

93, of Honolulu, passed away on August 22, 2017, in Manoa. He was born in Honolulu and was a retired auto mechanic for Universal Motors Company. He was predeceased by his wife, Edith Shizue. He is survived by a son, Nathan (Sherlyn), daughters, Phyllis Friar (Gary) and Pamela Kuwamura (Glenn), 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grand- children, and brothers, Shigeru and Henry.
