Tammy Tamiko Kuba, 88, passed away quietly on March 14, 2020. She was born in Ome, Japan, and was a retired housekeeper for the Outrigger Reef Hotel. She was married to George Masao Kuba who predeceased her in 2007. She is survived by sons Mark (Young), Gary (Lisa), daughter Janna Kuba Yamamoto (Reid) and seven grandchildren Michaela, Matthew, Ethan, Jillian, Julia, Tamryn and Gavin. Private service held.
Helen K. (Higa) Yamanuha
73, passed away peacefully at home in Pearl City on June 13, 2020. She was born on Maui and raised in Makawao. She moved to Honolulu after high school to continue her education, then worked for First Federal Saving and Mutual Plumbing. She is survived by husband Bert and three boys, Eric, Miles, and Keith; brothers Henry (Nancy) Higa and Glenn (Polly Ann) Higa; and sisters Sharon (Clifford) Kakiuchi and Audrey (Mark) Kawamura. Private service was held.
John Katsuji Watanabe
96, of Kauai, Hilo, and Honolulu, passed away on July 9, 2020. Born in Lawai, he retired from the United States Postal Service. He was an Army Veteran who served with the 442nd Infantry Regiment and 100th Infantry Battalion, and was a recipient of the Bronze Service Star and Purple Heart. He was a loving husband, kind father and grand- father. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Doris; son Chris (Karrie); daughters, Rae (Dennis) Carvalho, Jan (David) Stilwell; brother Takuo (Jayne); sister, Emi Kitashiro; grandchildren, Marissa, Dane, Janae, Kayla, and Casen.
Due to COVID-19, private services were held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
Frances Mitsuko Nishida
88, of Kaneohe, a retired payroll clerk for American T-Shirt, passed away on June 27, 2020 at home. She was born in Lahaina, Maui. She is survived by daughters, Vicky Hamada and Sheila (Daryl) Yoshimoto; sister, Kiyoko Nushida; and five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Private services.
Mitsuko Umetsu
101, of Honolulu, passed away on March 16, 2020. She was born in Puunene, Maui. She is survived by sons, Patrick (Jane) and Mathew (Elizabeth); and three grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. Private services were held.
Archie Atsuto Terao
92, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2020. Born in Honolulu and raised in Ewa. An Army Veteran, who later retired as a highly achieved aircraft and fire truck mechanic at Hickam AFB. A jack-of-all-trades, he was an accomplished home builder, auto restorer, and on a lighter side, an oil painter and karaoke singer. Archie's personality and smile endeared him to all that met him. He will always be remembered as an Ohana-first, industrious and compassionate man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He is survived by his sons Lawrence, Rickey and daughter Joni. Services have been held privately due to family's concern for public safety.
Kazuko Kinjo
96, of Honolulu, passed away on June 26, 2020 at home. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by sons, Masatatsu (Yong Yi) and Cubby (Jamie Mayeda-Kinjo); daughters, Susan Onaha and Lisa (James) Naito; daughter-in-law, Annette Kinjo; sisters, Sonoko Oshiro and Tokiko (Mitsuo) Nakasone; and six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Seisho; son, Masanori; and grand- daughter, Stacie Fujisaki. Private services were held.
Kunio and Mary Fujii
Kunio Fujii, 93, passed away on March 7, 2020. Mary Haruyo Fujii, 89, passed away on April 8, 2020. They were from Mililani, formerly of Kamuela. Kunio was born in Honokaa and was a retired University of Hawaii at Manoa, Department of Tropical Agriculture, Mealani Research Station Manager in Kamuela.
Mary Fujii was born in Honolulu and was a retired State of Hawaii Department of Education Cook at Waimea Elementary and Intermediate School.
Preceded in death by daughter, Velma, they are survived by sons, Aaron (JoAnn) and Karl (Cindy) Fujii; daughter, Cheryl Shintani, and eight grandchildren. Kunio is survived by his sister, Natsue Nakamoto. Mary is survived by her brothers, Hisao, James and William Wakahiro and sister, Dorothy Tamashiro.
Services have been postponed until further notice.

69, of Honolulu, passed away on March 22, 2020 at Islands Hospice Home. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by her husband, Glenn; daughter, Tianna Barrett; Step-Son, Travis (Madoka) Nomura; and three grandchildren. Private services.
George Masaharu “Masa” "Blackie” Minakami
Of Pearl City, passed away in the early morning hours of June 20, 2020 at the age of 88. Born in Wahiawa, Oahu, George served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a self-employed contractor. He is predeceased by parents Tamotsu and Teruo Minakami; siblings: Walter, Herbert Minakami, Ellen Migita, and grandson Chase Kirihara. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Yuriko Nonaka Minakami; sons: Scott (Kim), Guy (Carolyn Tanoue) Minakami; daughers: Joan (Rod) Ka'alekahi, Jill (Craig) Kirihara; grandchildren: Wendell, Aubree, Ka'iulani, Cheyne, Chaz, Chanel, Hunter, and Maya; siblings: Harry, Theodore, and Alice Minakami.
