76, of Honolulu, an Air Force veteran and retired soundman for the Outrigger Waikiki SOS show, passed away on June 3, 2020 at Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sisters, Jane Testa, Sally Koba and Jackie (Daryl) Wong; and nephew, Nicholas Testa.
Patricia Tomie Doi
The family of Patricia Tomie Doi sadly announce her passing on April 26, 2020. Patricia was born on April 28, 1928 in Kalopa on the Big Island of Hawaii to Kame and Uta Uyehara and was the 6th of 8 children of a close-knit, loving family. Patricia graduated from Honoka'a High School and attended Beauty College in Honolulu. After graduation, she became a co-owner of Pat Glamor Beauty Salon in the Moana Hotel in Waikiki along with 2 of her dearest friends. After a successful career as a business owner, they sold the salon to the Aiko Yamano Salon of Beauty from Japan and Patricia remained at the salon for numerous years to oversee the day to day operations. After a short retirement, Patricia realized an undiscovered passion...... karaoke. With the unwavering support of her wonderful sensei, she traveled all over the world, performing in front of large audiences. Although she had no prior musical interest, her family and friends were overjoyed that she discovered a second calling which she genuinely enjoyed. Patricia was a woman of incredible hope and had an optimistic approach towards life. She is now reunited with her husband Herbert, and is survived by her daughter, Kellie Pearce, and grandsons, Logan and Noah. She holds a huge place in our hearts and will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched. Private service to be held at an upcoming date.

70, of Honolulu, passed away at home on May 14, 2020. He was born in Honolulu on February 22, 1950. He retired from the City & County of Honolulu as a supervisor in the Department of Motor Vehicles. Survived by son Mark and brother Gary. Private services.
Martha Kimiko Bush
Martha Kimiko Bush, 73, passed away May 8, 2020 of lung cancer at Kina 'Ole Estates in Kaneohe. Martha was born in Honolulu and grew up in Ewa, eventually graduating from Farrington High School and attending the University of Hawaii, Manoa in accounting. She was married to Bryson Conrado Bush for 43 years. Bryson was a business entrepreneur, producing live tv shows such as the Jerry Lewis Telethon and in his later years producing and directing Capitol TV, a live production at the State Legislature. Martha was a secretary for the 15th Contracting Squadron at Hickam Air Force Base for 38 years. She loved Hawaiian music, Hawaiian food, and traveling internationally with Bryson and Hatsue, her mom. Special thank you to Dr. Brian Lee, at Kaiser Hospital, Nephrology, who guided Martha during her two and a half years of kidney disease along with her primary care physician Dr. Mii Hawkins. Also to Bristol Hospice and Kina 'Ole Estates. Martha is survived by Lenny, her treasured toy poodle, and brother Allan Suematsu (Carol Sakihara). Private graveside services were held at Oahu Cemetery.
Lorraine Ayako Yamashita
98, born in Honolulu on July 30, 1921, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 11, 2020. She retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Kapiolani Medical Center. She is survived by son, Alan; daughters Lorry (August) Suehiro and Wendy (Glenn) Nohara; sister, Peggy (James) Mita; and by four grandchildren and four great-grandsons. Private services were held.

96, of Pearl City, died on May 16, 2020. She was born on November 10, 1923 in Puhi, Kauai, and retired from Young Laundry. She is survived by her sons, Melvin Partido (Julita) and Robert Partido (Cecilia, deceased); grandsons, David Partido (Lourdes) and Melvin Partido, Jr. (Ausha); grand- daughter, Carol Solarzano (Marco); great-grandsons, Christian and Ezekiel Partido; sisters, Carol Taguma and Annie Chang.
Memorial service: Calvary Chapel Pearl Harbor, Thursday, June 11, 2:00pm. Service will be live streamed. Family and friends are invited but due to Coronavirus restrictions, facemasks are required; food and drinks will not be served.
Bertha Asato Shinagawa
On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, Bertha Shinagawa (74 years) peacefully passed away at home. After graduating from UH Manoa, Bertha lived on the island of Kauai for 40 years. Bertha is survived by her husband, Joseph; sons, Jeffrey (Tiffany) and Bradley (Jodie); grandchildren, Nathan, Jaycelyn, Colton, Taylor, Brandi, and Joseph, and sister, Judy (Ronald). Bertha was a quiet, kindhearted, and modest woman. As a lifetime educator with the DOE, Bertha helped shape young minds across the state. She loved her family, she loved the Lord, and she loved her church (Anchor Church Kaneohe). A celebration of life will be held on a later date.
George Kenzo Nishimura
85, of Honolulu, a retired civil and structural engineer and owner of Nishimura, Katayama, Oki and Santo, passed away on February 1, 2020 at Hale Ola Kino. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by daughters, Jan (Jeff) Brydle and Lyn (Rick) Wolf; and by grandchildren, Liana Emiko and Kaleb Kenzo. Services are pending.
Roy Hitomi Kajihara
81, of Kaneohe, HI, quietly returned to his eternal home on May 20, 2020, after a heroic battle with multiple health complications. Roy was born June 16, 1938, in Puunene, Maui. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hitoe and Sakae Kajihara, and siblings, Ernest (Alice) Kajihara, Gladys (Ron-deceased) Ashimine, and Lyle (Audrey) Kajihara.
Roy grew up in Makawao, Maui, attended Maui High, and graduated in 1956. He enlisted in the United States Army, and attended Basic Training at Ft. Lewis, WA. His three-year tour included Tobyhanna Army Depot, Scranton, PA and Okinawa. He was honorably discharged after achieving the rank of SP5 as a Radar Repairman.
Roy began his civilian life as an electrician, and was soon offered a job as an electrician for Sheraton Hotels in Waikiki. He became the sound electrician in the newly-built Sheraton Waikiki Hotel Hawaii Ballroom. His attention to detail and infectious attitude created a positive synergy in the Engineering Department. He was always willing to provide excellent service to the customers, and would go one step further to enhance their experience. For the next 39 years, he received various accolades and commendations. Many customers would ensure that Roy was available before scheduling their events. He retired from Sheraton-Waikiki Hotel in 2004. For the next 16+ years, he developed and overcame multiple medical challenges. The final battle ended at his residence.
Roy is survived by his wife, Joyce; three children: Geraldyne (Colin) Lacno of Kailua, HI, Scott Kajihara of Dayton, OH, and Grant (Melissa) Kajihara of Manchester, MD, and four grandchildren: Jamie and Nicholas Lacno, and Joy and Carmen Kajihara; siblings, Elaine (Paul-deceased) Foo Sum, Irene (Tatsumi-deceased) Imada, and Wilbert Kajihara.
